Role: Senior Designer
2x4's graphic program for the AT&T Performing Arts Center in Dallas, Texas, creates an identity for the Center as a whole, in addition to each of the individual performance venues on the campus. This identity extends from the large-scale building graphics to the donor recognition signage and wayfinding, to the code-required room signage backstage. In the Dee and Charles Wyly Theatre by REX/OMA, 2x4 worked closely with the architects and the notion of 'Theater as Machine,' to create a signage system throughout the building that is designed to function with the physical movement of the architecture, and in conjunction with the flow of users through the space. In the Margot and Bill Winspear Opera House by Foster + Partners, 2x4 designed a signage and wayfinding system that is integral to the architectural palette of the building, utilizing the unique materials and design to enhance the visitors' understanding of the space and the architecture.
